Catching Up

WOW!  It has been since October when I last wrote a post for the Pedersen Press.  October!!!  And SOOOO MUCH has happened since then.

This post will be a catch up from the end of October to just last weekend.  So bear with me.  But the pictures are great....and it was really a fun 3 months!

Halloween
Jeffery and Jakob had an amazingly fun time with Halloween this year.  They both really got in the spirit of things.  Jeffery was a Viking and Jakob was a pirate....as he has been going around the house since August, closing one eye and saying "Arrrrrr" and "You'll be walking the plank".  A pirate was beyond suitable for Jakob this year.  :)  This year, as in the past 2 years, we had 3 groups of friends join us to trick or treat in our neighborhood.  They all children around the same age as Jeffery and Jakob and all the kids have a ton of fun together.  The adults made it more fun for us this year by starting things off with a potluck and libations.  :)

Soccer
Jeffery continued playing with his U6 FC Richmond Boys team until the middle of November.  He LOVED his team, his teammates, his coach, and the overall experience more than anything he's done in his life....including the trips to Cass.  He is, as he tells me often, a Soccer Kid.  :)  And he's pretty good.  Especially when striking with his left foot.  I have visions of him getting picked up by some English Premier League team as a golden striker and being able to provide for me and Dave for the rest of our lives.  I'll invite you to my English Manor house if that happens.  ;)

His final game of the season....which our Aunt Weezie was able to attend (more on that later.... saw him make 8 goals.  Eight!!!!!!  8 goals in the final 15 minutes.  The coach almost pulled him out because he could see Jeffery running up the score but didn't dare.  You just don't pull a 5 year old out of his time in the game.  8 goals!!!!  And you should see his celebrations afterwards!  He has obviously watched way too many professional soccer games with his parents.  It was HILARIOUS.....his celebrations even had parents on opposing teams laughing and smiling at him.  Nothing obnoxious....just funny!  And then....when his teammates would get goals, he would practically pummel them to the ground as he ran to hug them and celebrate with them!  He has a good heart, this one!  :)

Jakob
Jakob is our Viking/Pirate child.  Little did we know that our somber, thoughtful, barely cracking a smile for his first year, child would turn into the loudest, silliest, and happiest little boy.  He frustrates us to no end....and makes us laugh until we cry.  He is stubborn and willful.....and the most cuddly and lovable little boy.  And he is definitely three....which in our house, is the new two.  He will start preschool in the spring and is really excited about that.  He gets easily frustrated because he wants to be a big boy like Jeffery and just isn't.  He ADORES sharing a room with his brother and the two will laugh and crash and carry on in there for an hour or more after we've put them to bed.  He is fully potty trained (except nap time and bedtime).  YAY!!!!!!!!!!  And he is quite the builder.  You give him blocks of any size and he gets to building right away.  Towers, space rockets, churches...it doesn't matter.  He is a little builder.  AND....he loves to play "Priest".  Yes, you read that correctly.  He will stand at the front of a room, with his back turned from you, and will start singing "Deo Gratias" and "Dominos vobiscum" and will turn around and bow and say "Et cum spiritu tuo".  Maybe this willful Viking will be the one who becomes a priest.  :)  Regardless, I adore this little boy.

Jeffery
I've already spoken about the activities of Jeffery quite a bit.  He is keeping us very busy and we find ourselves marveling at how big he is.  What happened to our little baby?!  He can be one of the sweetest boys I've ever met....and then, I turn around and am pulling out my hair in frustration.  HA!  He is totally 5 years old!!!!!  Roller coaster emotions, testing boundaries, seeing if he can get away with copping attitudes, etc.  But he loves his family fiercely and has such a joyful spirit...most of the time.  :)  He has lost 2 teeth already....very early according to our dentist....and has one "grown up tooth" already in.  He is VERY proud about this.

Aunt Weezie
We were blessed this November with a visit from my Aunt Weezie (Louise)....my mom's older sister. I cannot begin to express how tickled I was that she came to visit us and spent 5 days with us!  The whole family really enjoyed her time here!!!!  We took her to Buzz and Ned's BBQ, to Bottom's Up pizza, she came to a soccer game of Jeffery's, we had the first indoor fire of the season while she was here, and we showed her around our city.  I will forever treasure the memories we made with her.  And I will forever treasure seeing my boys love her so much!!!!

SNOW!!!!!
We had the first snow and snow storm this past weekend.  It was wonderful and beautiful and everything you hope a snowstorm to be.  We had planned ahead and made sure our fridge was stocked, brought in firewood to make fires, and had no where to go so it was ideal.  We received 8 inches and the boys had a blast playing in it....pretending to be snow plows.

And there you have it.  Whooo!!!!  Up next are posts specifically about Christmas....and our exciting announcement.  I hope that the start of 2017 has been peaceful and beautiful for you.  Happy New Year from all of us at the Pedersen Press!!!!!
