Jeffery Update

Wow!!!  I've written 2 whole entries about something other than Jeffery!!  :)    But just in case you are wondering, he is too cute to go unmentioned for long...

Our little boy is becoming just that...a real little boy!!! For the most part, he is a happy and joyful little baby and he brings such love to our hearts.  After not having appropriate weight gain for a long time, Jeffery finally went from being in the 5th percentile to the 15th percentile!!  I don't think he will ever be a Michelin Tire baby but the doctor was very pleased and Jeffery seems much happier and more content these days!

He has LOTS of new tricks like bringing his feet to his mouth....

and sometimes reacting when his name is called and laughing.  We absolutely adore his little laugh (and his toothless smile) and I try to get him to laugh as much as possible.
Excited to go to the Borter's house for Thanksgiving!
We normally do not get our Christmas Tree until the middle of December but we made an exception this year and went out with our next door neighbors the day after Thanksgiving to pick out our tree.

My lumberjack men!
The same day we picked out our tree, we also decided to visit the 38th Annual Model Railroad Exhibit at the Science Museum.  Jeffery was fascinated by the moving trains and would track them with his eyes as they made their way around the displays.  David was so proud to carry his little son around and we can't wait to go to the Railroad Park in Scottsdale, AZ in a couple weeks with him and Grandpa Jeff!

Decorating the Christmas Tree is always a big deal.  My family always made a grand night of the event with a fire and Christmas music and reliving memories of Christmas past...usually with life long friends joining us.  I am fortunate in the fact that Dave likes to decorate the tree and so, throughout our marriage, we have always made the decorating of the tree to be a special night.
How many girls do YOU know that have a fishing wader/fly rod ornament?!!!  :)
Unfortunately...Jeffery either didn't get the memo or decided that he had other plans because he just simply would not cooperate.  We thought he would be in awe of the lights, we thought he would love the music, we thought he would be happy in his swing with us flitting about the room.  WRONG.  He wanted to be held...and neither of us had the arms to hold him as we were busy decorating...so he cried.  And then screamed.  And then wailed.  So...he went off to our room and held court in the pack n' play while mommy and daddy peacefully finished decorating the tree.  We would check on him every 15 minutes or so and he would calm down so we would pick him up and bring him out into the living room...only for him to melt down all over again...and be sent back to Siberia.  :)
O Tannenbaum!  Our finished tree!
He has since learned to be in awe of the lights, to love the music, and is very content to sit in his swing in front of the tree and just stare at it for minutes on end.
Jeffery (5 months old) and Santa!
We were recently blessed to have my Aunt Mary from IL come to visit us.  She was in town for only a night but we were SO happy to see her, have her stay with us, and introduce her to Jeffery!  It is just too bad that Uncle Dave couldn't join her.

I ADORE this picture below!  It captures my happy little Jeffery so perfectly.

I cannot believe that we almost have a 6 month old baby on our hands.  I cannot believe that in a week, Jeffery will be having his 1st Christmas!!!!  Dave and I were a happy family for 9 years but with the addition of Jeffery Thomas, our home and hearts are overflowing with joy and love.  Sappy, I know...but so true!  :)

THAT is an adorable baby!
Can we crash the party when you guys venture to the Railroad Park while you're here? Colin LOVES that place and it's near our apartment!
