2 Years in Virginia!

Dave and I recently passed a milestone in our life -- 2 years in Virginia! 2 years being east of the Rockies, the Mississippi and the Appalachians. We have spent 2 years in the shadow Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, Richmond, Monticello and Mount Vernon. Here are some highlights of the 2 years:

We have been to Monticello multiple times! We love the grounds, especially in late May/early June when all the flowers have bloomed. The house and its history is simply fascinating! It is an ideal setting!

We survived our first (and only, so far) tropical storm - Ernesto. The winds in our neighborhood were clocked at 2 mph slower than a level 1 Hurricane. We have also "weathered" 5 nor'easters.

We were blessed to live 1 mile away from Colonial Williamsburg. It was amazing to have almost daily interaction with the birthplace of so much American history. Not to mention that the dogs loved the squirrel action!

We have been fortunate to make several trips to D.C. these past 2 years. We have even started to do day trips just so we can see our favorites: the pandas at the zoo and the Smithsonian Art Museum. God bless the Metro!

2 years in Virginia -- and counting.

It is hard to believe you have been away from Idaho for 2 years! Doesn't seem that long!
