Once Upon a Time...

Once upon a time....

In a mountain kingdom far, far away lived a girl named Jessica and a boy named David. They were both very busy with their friends and their studies and even though they had met once or twice, neither was very interested in cultivating a friendship with the other....much less a relationship.

That all changed one fateful night when Jessica's good friend, Jason, introduced her again to his good friend, David. The stars were aligned this evening and Cupid's arrow flew true into both of their hearts. Jason loved his friends and delighted in their good fortune!

It was not long before Dave had completely swept Jessica off of her feet.

David and Jessica had found a best friend in each other. They loved to hike the Oak Creek Canyon area, picnic up on the San Francisco Peaks, drink champagne while star gazing at Lake Mary, and watch operas while enjoying a nice bottle of wine. They laughed with their friends, sang amazing music together, and with each kiss...grew more in love with each other.

Their friends and family supported them and stood by them...

And jumped for joy when...

on October 14th, 2000, on the side of Mt. Humprhey and surrounded by Aspen trees in their full autumn glory, Dave proposed to Jessica and she said "yes"!

They started planning a wedding that reflected them as people, what they believed in, and what they valued most in life. So, on May 18th, 2002, friends and family from across the country convened in the mountain kingdom and celebrated Jessica and David's wedding at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Jessica and David were so blessed to have their family and friends be such an integral part of the ceremony: Jessica's dad sang, Dave's guitar teacher played, Jessica's family friend played the organ, their friend from church did a reading, Jessica's youth minister did a reading and spoke, her uncle played the french horn, and their good friend served as the priest for the ceremony.

It was an amazing day for Jessica and David and provided memories that they will treasure their whole lives. As they took their first steps as husband and wife...

they surrounded themselves with their faith, their family, their friends and their love for each other. Seven years later, these 4 components still remain the core of their marriage and provide strength in times of trial and joy in times of happiness.
There is no "and they lived happily ever after" to this story, but rather a ....... TO BE CONTINUED.....

Here's to another 70 years....

Congratulations on 7 blissful years! I'm still so sad I was half way around the country on your big day in 2002...but as you said, just more blissful days to come.
